Anyone an entomologist? Or a bug coroner?

Because I don’t know what flying tomato sized bug at a thousand feet we hit, but there were several thu nks and then this big one. Yes, in the middle there in ONE bug splat. The biggest hit I’ve seen yet. We were l anding at b altimore ...hit this one at probably 180mph. Anyone from the area care to share what juicy bugs you have nearby ? This was shot with a pixel3 so you can blow it up nice and huge. Make it a windows wallpaper!

Looks to be a zoidbug.  Toyota windshield cleaner dissolves it.

If it was a different time of year, I’d say “June Bug”, but it was probably some kind of large beetle. There are some huge and juicy mofos out there in the Scarabaeidae family...

Back when I was a kid, we’d play in the street at night under the street lamp hitting June Bugs (same family) and the occasional figeater with a big plastic bat. The bug spray was unreal. All of these were over an inch long and heavy, some an inch and a half... That’s a big splat.

I would tend to vote for a migrating moth or butterfly in this case. Something that has spent the summer fueling  up on nectar to fatten up for the trip south...

Does that mean SW? Surely you end up with a Nashville route in that case

It does. I’m mainly west coast work and don’t see Bnashville that  often.

I’m running on SWA Thursday. I hope to be on a Max. Bored with the MCAS worry. At this point, I get the impression everyone including half the passengers know how to disconnect it.
